Policy

Well anchored in its social and economical environment, our shipyard’s position in the extreme North of France has the advantage of being close to the great volume of traffic in North West Europe, but gives us also a strong logistic position being in the Antwerp-Rotterdam area. The majority of our customers are ship owners and ship managers operating in North Sea and channel areas and using the big harbour facilities in the Le Havre to Hamburg area.

The fact that 70% of our customers are non-French enabled our yard to build a good experience with international shipping customers and to achieve a good communication level with owner's representatives. The main language used and practised by all the management staff and many of the execution level personnel is English.

Our organisation is based on the 'ship manager' concept, having a senior member of our staff full time on the vessel to work in close coordination with the owner's representative. The ship manager has authority on contractual, technical and financial matters, and is the yard representative during the project. Our top management is nevertheless always available and will be helpful in difficult cases. All our staff is linked with owner's representatives by walky-talkies and mobile phones and is always available. This close coordination also means a close follow-up of cost and quality and a good reactivity for additional quotations and technical reporting that are immediately transmitted to Owner's representative during the whole project.

Our pricing policy on tender level is to include in the specified items the price of the eventual overtime needed to achieve the project in the quoted time in running days. This policy might show slightly more expensive prices on tender level, but saves surprises and unsatisfaction when finalizing invoices.

Our Quality and Health & Safety records are between the best in Europe and maintained by strong written procedures complying with National and International Regulations.

To comply with July 1st 2004 ISPS regulations our shipyard is fully fenced and under 24h access control.

Most of our customers who have a first experience in our yard have the trend of coming back in full confidence.
