ARNO Dunkerque shipyard created as such in 1987 is issued from the past shipbuilding and shiprepair industry which existed in Dunkirk since more than a century. ARNO Dunkerque is the only operator for ship repair and conversion in the harbour of Dunkirk (3rd French harbour).

Since its creation ship repair activity has reinvented itself through the years to become this modern and highly skilled shipyard that is ARNO Dunkerque today.

 

The resources and facilities are basically the following:

 

Permanent 'in house' highly qualified labour and staff of 180. Average age: 38 years old

A significant industrial environment of capacity and speciality subcontractors. The number of indirect job linked to the yard activity is estimated to 500.

The shipyard is located in Dunkirk East Harbour which is behind locks meaning constant water level with no tide. The biggest lock for harbour entrance is the same size as our biggest graving dock so whatever can enter the harbour can be repaired by ARNO Dunkerque. Draft restriction in the yard is ~ 9.50m.

Ample cranage and transport facilities are available up to 1 200 tons.
